The biennale's educational program has been designed to allow everybody to explore the many issues being raised by the artists and their works. It includes stimulating creative activities that will unfold throughout the biennale.

IMAGES FROM INNU LANGUAGE

Inspired by Anne-Marie Proulx’s series Voix du Nitassinan, this workshop is an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the Innu language and culture.


ECHO OF AN IMAGE

Led by artist Frédéric Lavoie and inspired by his work Rue Notre-Dame, 1887, this workshop invites the audiences to create a soundtrack for an archival photograph.

 

STORIES OF IDENTITY

In collaboration with Arc-en-ciel d’Afrique, this workshop, based on Zanele Muholi’s work, explores the history of the recognition of sexual minorities, rights.

THE IMAGE IS YOURS!

From a description of a work featured in the biennale, youngsters are invited to stage a new image according to their own interpretation. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif will act as ambassador for this workshop.

Workshop animated by the Brila team, certified practitioners of the Philosophy of Children pedagogical model. This philosophical creative workshop is an original way to question our perception of the images that surround us.

In this workshop, participants are invited to create portraits with their smartphone, in context inspired by the photographic studio and its theatrical potential

Centre CLARK and Mordecai-Richler Library join forces to offer a free activity combining stories and games for kids to discover Zanele Muholi’s work.
