The Mile End is a trendy and friendly neighbourhood with multicultural roots, renowned for its bagels and former clothing factory converted into artists’ studios. Stretching from North to South, between Mont-Royal and Van Horne Avenues, and from West to East between Hutchinson and Saint-Denis Streets, the quaint Mile End district can easily be explored by foot.

Memorialized in the novels of Mordecaï Richler, who grew up there, the Mile End became a literary and artistic centre for the city of Montréal, as well as, in the 1980s and 1990s, a must for art lovers. There are many galleries, designer studios, technology startups, independent companies and shops, along with a wide range of cafés.
