Cathédrale – Yann Pocreau

In Cathédrale, Pocreau deploys an immersive installation that reproduces the presence of light as it might be manifested in this type of space. The image of a place of worship, expanded out of its two-dimensionality, is transformed into a theatre that looks both apocalyptic and poetic, in which the act hosted is the very act of light.

MURDER – Guillaume Simoneau

Guillaume Simoneau, RAVENS, 2016-17, De la série MURDER, 2019. With courtesy from Mack, London, et Stephen Bulger Gallery, Toronto.

Produced in Japan, the series MURDER (2016–2019) brings together poetic and symbolic relations with birds in which the animal becomes at once friend, alter ego, and protagonist. The bird appears as the witness to a private, introspective story that is told in a sequence of images that may be disturbing, contemplative, or metaphoric.
